Title: I Swear (Official Music Video) - All 4 One

I Swear (1994) by All 4 One (All Copyrights goes to Blitzz/Atlantic Records)

I swear by the moon and the stars in the sky
And I swear like the shadow thats by your side

I see the questions in your eyes
I know whats weighing on your mind
You can be sure I know my part
`Coz Ill stand beside you through the years
Youll only cry those happy tears
And though I make mistakes
Ill never break your heart

And I swear by the moon and the stars in the sky
Ill be there
I swear like a shadow thats by your side
Ill be there
For better or worse, till death do us part
Ill love you with every beat of my heart
And I swear

Ill give you every thing I can
Ill build your dreams with these two hands
Well hang some memories on the walls
And when just the two of us are there
You wont have to ask if I still care
`Coz as the time turns the page, my love wont age at all

And I swear by the moon and the stars in the sky
I swear (and I swear) like the shadow thats by your side
Ill be there

For better or worse, till death do us part
Ill love you with every beat of my heart
And I swear
I swear (I swear) by the moon and stars in the sky
Ill be there
I swear like the shadow thats by your side
Ill be there

For better or worse, till death do us part
Ill love you with every (single) beat of my heart
I swear, I swear, oh... I... swear...

A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8

por | | 0 comments

Update! I know the images are missing (thanks a lot Blogger), but until I get a chance to do all my fancy cutting and pasting, etc., I wanted to re-post this because some people have asked me for the information about some of the items. I'll get around to fixing the image problem eventually, but in the meantime, if you're curious you can click on the links to see what I'm talking about.

Everyone has a wish list this time of year (or any time of year, I guess), and even though they might not admit it, everyone has what I like to call a "Santa Baby" wish list, too. You know, those things that are beyond the realm of possibility as far as how likely you are to ever receive them as a gift. Or own them, period. So this is my Santa Baby wish list this year, alongside more realistic possible gift items.

Strut.
A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8
Left: These are on my Santa baby list because they're the ultimate fantasy shoe. Remember when Carrie got her hands on them in the Vogue accessories closet? {Manolo Blahnik patent leather Mary Janes, $555}
Right: I would be happy to get a pair of these, in any and every color, to keep in my purse. How can you beat comfortable AND cute. {Sue London ballet flats, $134}

Click.
A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8
Left: What can I say? Their ad campaign sold me. {Nikon D40X, $700}
Right: Wouldn't it be nice to have this, instead of trying to balance your camera on a stack of magazines or the hood of your car? {Gorillapod tripod, $25}

Trip.
A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8
Left: Who wants to feel like royalty? Me too! {Hilton Maldives Resort, $1,500}
Right: Cross country skiing has never appealed to me, but a weekend at this historic home would probably be enough to change my mind. {Frank Lloyd Wright's Seth Peterson cottage, $275 per weekend night}

Read.
A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8
Left: I would feel really cool if I got this surprise in the mail every three months. {subscription to The Thing Quarterly, $120 for four issues}
Right: I'm not sure how I've lived this long without a subscription to this one. {subscription to Martha Stewart Living, $24 for twelve issues}

Bloom.
A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8
Left: This isn't a fantasy because of the price. It's a fantasy because A) I live in an apartment and B) I live outside its ideal growing zone. Oh but I love them. {dogwood tree, $60 for 25}
Right: I love most flowers (although hot house roses, not so much) but I have a special place in my heart for white hydrangeas. {white hydrangea plant, $55}

Scent.
A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8
Right: How fabulous would it be to have a perfume custom made, just for you? Talk about a signature scent. {Aftelier custom perfume, $1,100}
Left: A solid perfume is so convenient. And less likely to explode all over your purse. {Marc Jacobs Gardenia solid, $55}

Chop.
A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8
Left: My dream kitchen features copper pots, marble countertops, and a set of these. {Shun Ken Onion 11-piece knife block set, $1,300}
Right: I think everyone needs a decent chef's knife, and this one definitely fits the bill. {Wusthof Classic Ikon 8-inch chef's knife, $120}

Write.
A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8
Left: I'd love to write my brilliant ideas in this sassy little book. {Smythson Dreams and Desires Panama notebook, $113}
Right: This little book of details is such a lovely, simple way to capture your day. {Marta Designs mini diary, $10)

Bling.
A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8
Left: I don't care how long it takes, I am going to save up enough money to buy this watch. I mean, it's a classic! I can pass it along to my grandchildren! {Cartier Tank Louis watch, $5,500}
Right: The reversible tiny disc is too sweet. {Sonya Renee mini disc necklace, $50}

Sweet.
A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8
Right: These ceramic fruits are truly pieces of art. My mom has a little bowl of them on her coffee table, and I covet them. {Penkridge Ceramics pear, $50}
Left: You may think these are the same as clementines, but I'm telling you, they're better. {5-pound box of Satsuma tangerines, $15}

Warm.
A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8
Right: I'm a down comforter kind of girl, in every season. But I'd change that if it meant I could have one of these gorgeous blankets. {Swans Island summer blanket, $575}
Left: Doesn't this blanket look just right for cuddling up by the fire with some cocoa? Of course, between the time I found it and now, it appears to have sold out, but they have another one that's similarly wonderful. {Lands' End plaid throw, $70}

Tote.
A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8
Right: I dream of one day finding the perfect bag, and loving it so much, and having it be so classic, that I never have to buy another one. {Prada calfskin hobo, $1,300}
Left: This clutch is so unique: it's funky enough to be cool, but simple enough to work with just about any outfit. {Betsy Wise round buckle clutch, $120}

Play.
A Snippet & Ink Christmas, #8
Right: My nephew would go bonkers for this airplane! Oh how I wish I could afford to spoil him that much! {Flying Ace pedal plane, $350}
Left: These little cars are so freaking cool! They come apart, with pieces you can interchange with other models. My nephew loves them, but I think they're cool enough for grown ups, too. {Automoblox vehicle, $35}

What's on your Santa Baby list?

For the first time on television, see how a severely depressed patient can be turned into a happy person at the push of a button - all thanks to the cross-pollination of neuroscience and artificial intelligence.

Title: Edan - Echo Party (Snippet)

video directed by: Tom Fitzgerald
music by: Edan

After Edan labored for a year to complete his new project Echo Party he was very happy with the outcome but wanted it to have a visual accompaniment to help compliment his live DJ set. He approached Tom Fitzgerald who also happens to be Cut Chemists go to video guy and film archivist who works for the The Silent Theatre in LA. What has been created in nothing short of a perfect visual marriage for the unmistakably unique album. There will be a full length version for the whole album with a party at The Silent Theatre in LA to debut the full length video in early 2010 (and yes Mr. Edan will be DJing). For now peep this shorter version and dont forget to check out the album Echo Party out now on new boutique label Five Day Weekend.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

por | | 0 comments

I know it sounds like a mouthful right? Well it is! A mouthful of cookie deliciousness!

I have recently (well not RECENTLY) discovered Brown Eyed Baker, another lovely foodie blog. I originally used her site last December when I wanted to learn How to properly Ice my Christmas sugar cookie cut-outs and earlier this week I saw this recipe and I knew I just had to make them. She describes them as "the ultimate trifecta of cookie goodness;" and I have to agree with her.

002

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Source: Brown Eyed Baker

Ingrediants:

1 cup all purpose flower
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 stick unsalted butter, softened
1/2 creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside

2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl and set aside

3. Cream together butter, peanut butter and sugars with mixer on medium speed. mix in eggs and vanilla. Turn mixer on low. Slowly add four mixture until combined. Stir in rolled oats and chocolate chips.

4. Using 1/4 c. scoop out dough and form into balls. Using the fingertips of each hand, grasp the dough and pull it apart. turn each half 90 degrees and push together, careful no to smooth out the jagged edges on top formed by pulling apart the dough. (this will give you the crinkly top that is oh-so-nice)

5. Bake in preheated oven for around 10 min until sides are golden brown and tops are puffy. Allow to cool on cookie sheet for 10 min before transferring onto wire racks. Store in air tight container.

Grab Milk, Enjoy Immediately!

Footnote:

Just so you guys know, I made it though my run today without stopping. I might have at times been jogging at such a slow pace that little 80 year old biddies in their powerchairs probably would have passed me, but I NEVER walked, and I am SUPER proud of that. (so of course I made baked goods, because that just makes sense!)

Wait for it...

Wait for it...
...A book I actually liked!!! I know! Crazy, right? Well, before you think the book is about gene splicing or the political maneuvers of the Shining Path, I'll let you know this book is a work of fiction! And it's not even by Dostoevsky!!!

This was a "honeymoon read" that I didn't get around to reading. I mean, it has the perfect title for honeymoon fare: A Happy Marriage. I picked this up right before the insanity of the wedding thinking it would be a great lakeside read. Wrong.

Luckily, as we were listening to NPR the afternoon after we arrived in Idaho, Terry Gross was interviewing Rafael Yglesias about his new book, A Happy Marriage. I listened long enough to find out the book is about his late wife's battle with cancer and his inner turmoil with the nasty leftovers of an affair. So, um, yeah, this book was probably not what I needed to read mere days into my marriage. So I tucked it back in my suitcase for later.

"Later" turned out to be one of the most crazy weeks of the semester so far, so instead of doing my homework, I read this book. It was lovely. It recounts a beginning and an end of a marriage. This marriage was far from perfect and I really liked that. Margaret and Enrique (Rafael's pseudonym) are not perfect, either. They are infuriating at times! The book is brutally descriptive about the dying process for the individual suffering and their family, as well. It's visceral and raw, both the beginning and the end of this marriage.

Rafael needed some absolution for his adulterous ways, so he wrote this book. I'm so glad he did.

Title: Atreyu - Wait For You (with lyrics)

Atreyu new album download:
http://www.evolucionterminal.blogspot.com/

Lyrics:
It started with a kiss and turned out something else.
The blood courses in through my veins I think of no one else.
I never believed in much but I believe in this.
Im incomplete without you, Id kill to taste your kiss.
Im lost and lonely scared and hiding.
Blind without you.

When the the world comes crashing down and the skies begin to fall,
Ill wait for you
When the days grow old and long and my skins turns into stone,
Ill wait for you
When the pain it seems too much and my heart starts beating out of touch I dont need a thing,
Ill wait for you

It's all so different now, emotions burn me out.
I have a lifeless touch, this distance leaves no doubt.
I fear it all too much but part of me believes.
As the years pass away you made me recognize,
Im lost and lonely, scared and hiding.
Blind without you.

When the the world comes crashing down and the skies begin to fall,
Ill wait for you
When the days grow old and long and my skins turns into stone,
Ill wait for you
When the pain it seems too much and my heart starts beating out of touch I dont need a thing,
Cause Ill wait for you...

Yeah..
Cause Ill wait for you...

When the the world comes crashing down and the skies begin to fall,
Ill wait for you
When the days grow old and long and my skins turns into stone,
Ill wait for you
When the pain it seems too much and my heart starts beating out of touch I dont need a thing.
I know I dont need a thing.
Ill wait for you.

Song from Atreyu's new album, Congregation of the Damned
