One of our super sweet couples sent us this beautiful picture of the Love parasol we created for their July wedding in Cleveland, Ohio along with a note that read:
"I have been meaning to contact you for some time in regards to how beautiful the parasol was for my big day! My bridesmaids carried green parasols therefore my white parasol with black writing stood out in the photos. I have attached a photo that our photographer took to especially highlight the parasol. I hope you enjoy the image as much as we enjoyed taking the photo! I am hoping to enlarge this image onto a canvas to hang on our walls for years to come! Thank you again so much!" Amanda
Thanks so much Amanda and congratulations on your beautiful wedding day!

Each of the three boards I will post today draws its inspiration from one of three arrangements by Ariella Chezar that appeared in the Winter 2007 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, in a spread called "Centerpieces with Fruit and Flowers."
This board was created for Cole, a bride with a distinct and original idea of what she wants for her wedding. With a bespoke tweed suit for the groom, and a blend of Edwardian and roaring 20's style for the bride, a love of birds and books, and a band composed of the couple's friends, I wanted to pull together a board that would reflect the couple's unique style as well as the rustic venue. Ariella's centerpiece, which includes plums, pears and roses, seemed like a good focal point.
Mood: distinctive romance Palette: red, purple, green, brown
So I knew that a few people would be disappointed in me for my extreme distaste for "Eat, Pray, Love." And I could continue in my arguments that she still is one of the most self-centered women in the world*, but instead I decided to read the other side of the story.
Let me first alert you to the fact that "Drink, Play, F#@k" is a FICTITIOUS account by a comedic writer who wrote something he thought Ms. Gilbert's jilted ex SHOULD have written. I totally didn't know this until after I'd researched the book...and this research occurred after the fact. This changed my thoughts on this book completely. The real Slim Shady is publishing a memoir in January of 2010 about his divorce disembowelment and I'll probably read that too!
At first, I was absolutely rooting for Bob (that's Mr. Elizabeth Gilbert). He was just a hard-working schmuck who liked his Audi and loved his wife. He never cheats on Ms. Gilbert, provides for her new-agey pursuits, and only looks at her sister's ass once, but claims it was to marvel at the body-shaping powers of bulimia. Nice guy, right?
Mmmmm, not really. He's just kind of...boring. He goes to Ireland and drinks. He goes to Vegas and gambles. He goes to Thailand and falls in with a Hollywood screenwriter and has the opportunity to have an orgy. So essentially this book was supposed to be the BEST. REVENGE. EVER. Supposed to be, anyway.
He is just as vacuous and greedy as his ex. Knowing now that this is a fictitious account, the "Get Out of Jail Free" card I was going to award Ms. Gilbert is still in the deck. I reeeeealy want that written affirmation that she's super-horrible, but after reading "Drink, Play, F#@k," I would have left Mr. Elizabeth Gilbert, too.
*Yes, Ms. Gilbert did raise money for a single mom in Indonesia, but then waffled on her "generosity" (read: the money her friends gave her) when the single mom decides she needs to take Ms. Gilbert for all she was: an American Cash Cow. It comes as a shock to Ms. Gilbert that ANYone in an impoverished country couldn't see her halo radiating from afar. Luckily, we have Gilbert's rich boyfriend to verify, that indeed people are in need in Indonesia and will find any way to survive - and if that means bleeding a self-righteous American dry, than so be it! The power differential, where the white westerner holds the key for a native Indonesian's salvation just grosses me out.

Title: Tim Minchin - The Good Book (Live)
Tim Minchin is as brilliant and hilarious as ever as he satires the bible in "The Good Book." I own nothing, obviously, go buy the DVD as Tim Minchin deserves the moolah.
BTW, there's another version on here too (and he should get credit, as he uploaded the video first). Check it out:
Life is like an ocean voyage and our bodies are the ships
And without a moral compass we would all be cast adrift
So to keep us on our bearings, the Lord gave us a gift
And like most gifts you get, it was a book
I only read one book, but it's a good book, don't you know
I act the way I act because the Good Book tells me so
If I wanna known how to be good, it's to the Good Book that I go
'Cos the Good Book is a book and it is good and it's a book
I know the Good Book's good because the Good Book says it's good
I know the Good Book knows it's good because a really good book would
You wouldn't cook without a cookbook and I think it's understood
You can't be good without a Good Book 'cos it's good and it's a book
And it is good for cookin'
I tried to read some other books, but I soon gave up on that
The paragraphs ain't numbered and they complicate the facts
I can't read Harry Potter 'cos they're worshipping false gods and that
And Dumbledore's a poofter and that's bad, 'cos it's not good
Morality is written there in simple white and black
I feel sorry for you heathens, got to think about all that
Good is good and evil's bad and goats are good and pigs are crap
You'll find which one is which in the Good Book, 'cos it's good
And it's a book, and it's a book
I had a cat, she gave birth to a litter
The kittens were adorable and they made my family laugh
But as they grew they started misbehavin'
So I drowned the little fuckers in the bath
When the creatures in your care start being menaces
The answers can be found right there in Genesis!
Chapter 6, Verse 5-7!
Swing your partner by the hand
Have a baby if you can
But if the voices your head
Say to sacrifice your kid
To satisfy your loving God's
Fetish for dead baby blood
It's simple fate, the Book demands
So raise that knife up in your hand!
Before the Good Book made us good, there was no good way to know
If a thing was good or not that good or kind of touch and go
So God decided he'd give writing allegoric prose a go
And so he wrote a book and it was generally well-received
The Telegraph said, "This God is reminiscent of the Norse."
The Times said, "Kind of turgid, but I liked the bit with horses."
The Mail said, "Lots of massacres, a violent tour de force.
If you only read one book this year, then this one is a book
And it is good, and it's a book!"
Swing your daughter by the hand
But if she gets raped by a man
And refuses then to marry him
Stone her to death!
If you just close your eyes and block your ears
To the accumulated knowledge of the last two thousand years
Then morally, guess what? You're off the hook
And thank Christ you only have to read one book
Just because the book's contents
Were written generations hence
By hairy desert-dwelling gents
Squatting in their dusty tents
Just because what Heaven said
Was said before they'd leavened bread
Just 'cos Jesus couldn't read
Doesn't mean that we should need
When manipulating human genes
To alleviate pain and fight disease
When deciding whether it's wrong or right
To help the dyin' let go of life
Or stop a pregnancy when it's
Just a tiny blastocyst
There's no reason why we should take a look
At any other book
But the Good Book
'Cause it's good
And it's a book
And it's a book
And it's quite good!
Good is good and evil's bad
And kids get killed when God gets mad
And you'd better take a good look
At the Good Book

Shug and I had so much fun on our little road trip! It was really nice to just spend time with each other, play dumb driving games, eat greasy food, and sleep in;)! I've made a little must-see list for those of you who are willing to make the hop-skip-jump over there...It's only a 6 hour drive from Salt Lake City!
Pearl Street is the bomb. Anything you need, they got.
Hapa Sushi Bar is the place for sampling all sorts of delicious and delicate sakes. Being Gluten-Free means I don't get to imbibe beer, so sake is a nice alternative. If firewater ain't your thing, Hapa also has the most amazing broiled sushi roll called the "Orgasm." Annnnd it IS that good.
The vintage shops are really moderately priced! They're no D.I., but what is these days? The inventory is pretty awesome, as well!
Whatever you do, see a music show ANYwhere in town. The experience is so antagonistic to Utah show experiences! People are TOTALLY aware of your personal space. Read: Not one of my BOOBs was touched during the entire Animal Collective show. Average Utah boob encounter per show: Left gal - 3.7. Right gal - 5.2. Average Boulder boob encounter per show (Shug not included;)): Left gal - 0.0 Right gal - 0.0 No lie.
Having a bad latte is an impossibility in Boulder. I think it's due to the fact that Boulder has the highest PhD per capita in the U.S. I KNOW not all of them are teaching in town, but, my, do they make a mean latte! If caffeine isn't your morning cup, do yourself a favor an get a gourmet hot chocolate or steamer...You won't be sorry!
Stay at the University Inn. It is centrally located so you can walk almost anywhere there is something to do. This is a bonus since parking is kind of a nightmare and is pretty pricey. If you are in town to see a show, show the front desk your tickets when you are checking in and you may be able to get a discount!
Check out the Tea House next to the Boulder Museum of Modern Art (and check out the museum while you're at it!)...It's so beautiful and intricate, inside and out! (That's the tea house behind me!)
If you run into the band that you traveled 6 hours to see, don't just giggle like an intoxicated school girl on helium. They are most likely human beings that also speak human, not squeaky-groupie-wannabe-speak.
Ok, so maybe don't worry about that last one...But if you are ever in the neighborhood, give Boulder a day or two on your itinerary, you'll be so glad you did!

Title: Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Boulder Bowl Galaxy (Rock and Rollodillo) [30]
Mario travels to the Boulder Bowl Galaxy for the first time ever. He discovers a new transformation suit; it is a rock-like, stone-like suit. Mario is able to roll around into a boulder and can bust through rocks, walls, fences, enemies, and bosses. For the most part, Mario gets to practice using this new transformation suit in the beginning of the level. So gain control for it on the first few planetoids. The boulder will randomly crumble and Mario stops rolling after some time. Another shake will get Mario rolling again. FYI, later on, when suiting up with the boulder in future snowy or icy levels, Mario's boulder turns white. Anyway that is a different story for another day. In Rock and Rollodillo, Mario ultimately faces a boss who just like Mario's suit, is made of rock and rolls around. He is an armadillo boss with a tough outer shell for protection. Rollodillo is a pun; it's puny, lol. Anymore of a pun, you would have to play Aerosmith or Stealers Wheels during this playthrough, for actual rock and roll music, lol.
Mario must hit the derrière of of the boss in rock form. Once Mario rolls into the derrière of the boss, it counts as a hit. Rockodillo's movements have somewhat of an aspect of randomity and spontaneity. Hit Rockodillo's derrière three times in the form of a rock and earn a power star. Each hit is more challenging to achieve than the previous hit. For the third time, it is best to get to Rockodillo's derrière after he crumbles his rock form, and transform into rock and slay his huge derrière. Keep trying until you get him, hopefully you get the double life mushroom beforehand from the hungry Luma. If you lose a life bit, just grab a coin, there are plenty on the cage-like planetoid. Food for thought, the cage-like planetoid has really reminded me of steel-caged grudge matches, although you're on the exterior of the cage. It does resemble the track of Wario's Colosseum from Mario Kart Double Dash; that's what I mentioned in the two-parter voice-over. As you play this game for yourself, I hope you recognize/notice all sorts of allusions to other past Nintendo Games; I will comment on that whenever I catch it at first instance, either in the voice-over session, or this description, or both.
This is part 2 of 2 of a two-parter video. This video focuses on the boss. The prior video focuses on getting to the boss. Video [29] is prior to this video. Please watch video [29] before this one.
This is a live narration, which is the only type of narration I do. There will be a lot more videos where this came from. Hope you Enjoy! Let's Play!

Title: 420 2008 university of colorado, boulder. norlin quad
apparently 10,000+ people showed up this year, good times
Rocky Mountain News -
It was a warmer-than-average, sunny day in Boulder on Sunday.
And around 4:20 p.m. on the University of Colorado campus, the sky grew unusually hazy.
Cheers erupted along with a heavy cloud of smoke as an estimated 10,000 people - mostly CU students joined by friends from out of town and some local residents - lit up to celebrate at an annual pot-smoking rally.
Some said they were there to advocate for the legalization of marijuana. Others - including some who came just to watch - said it was all for fun.
"It's like, why do people drink beer on St. Patrick's Day?" said a 22-year-old "super senior" who didn't want to give his name. "It's a holiday. Like the Fourth of July."
The number 420 is slang for marijuana. Across the country each year, pro-pot rallies are held on April 20 or 4/20.
Though there were events all day long on the CU campus, from an art display to live bands, the students chose 4:20 p.m. for the massive smoke-up at Norlin Quadrangle.
A few guys played drums. Some girls danced. Beach balls and Frisbees flew through the air.
CU police monitored the gathering, with 15 campus officers and six Boulder County sheriff's deputies stationed around the perimeter and directing traffic.
According to a news release, the focus was to "maintain a safe environment and discourage potentially hazardous activities."
No citations were issued and there were no arrests, although there were four medical incidents and two people were transported to local hospitals, the release stated. One person was treated for a seizure, the other for dehydration.
Most of the crowd left by 5:15 p.m., police said.
In 2005, when the event was held at Farrand Field, CU officials turned sprinklers on the crowd. In 2006, campus officials took pictures of attendees - then posted them online and offered a $50 reward for anyone who could identify anyone in them.
Sunday's event was organized in part by the CU chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, or NORML.
Alex Douglas, a CU sophomore who handles public relations for the NORML chapter, said the group tried to get the message out that people didn't have to smoke pot to attend the rally.
"420 isn't about smoking," he said. "420 is about activism."
Douglas said CU administrators required the group to pay more than $600 to hire seven security guards.
NORML was trying to cover the expense by giving people a chance at a $5 drawing.
Each entrant got to guess the number of jelly beans in a jar. The 20 people closest to the correct number won a prize, ranging from a NORML T-shirt to a plastic marijuana leaf necklace or a pipe, Douglas said.
At Norlin Quad, some were displaying an entrepreneurial spirit, selling $15 T-shirts commemorating the event, lighters and buttons that read "Get trippy, Boulder Colorado" and "Got Dose?"
Douglas said his group wants to get across the message that marijuana isn't dangerous and should be decriminalized.
